Mission

In an effort to accomplish the saying, "Do what you love, love what you do," three friends with similar interests and complementary talents came together. The result is their quest to bring a superior wine from prime locations in a socially and environmentally responsible fashion.

History

They all met while attending UC Davis and participating in the one and only Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh! A passion for wine led them all to Napa where they worked in various wineries learning the ins and outs of all sides of the wine industry. Several years later they decided it was time to try this out for themselves.

Meet the friends

Ted Henry – Winemaker – ted@primenapa.com

tedTed arrived at UC Davis undeclared (aka no direction). One introductory to winemaking class later and he became one of the only people around him who knew what he wanted to do and was having fun doing it. So much fun in fact that he took an extra year to get there (classes weren't the only fun he was having). Upon graduation, Ted worked at Trinchero Family Estates enjoying the art of making fine wine with a large budget. He currently works at Jarvis where he has found a whole new world of winemaking philosophy's and techniques, including the pleasure of working on a much smaller scale but much bigger vision. His wife can't even complain about being a harvest widow anymore! Ted is excited to pool his experiences into Prime Cellars winemaking, even if it is a tiny amount right now. During the slow season Ted has started renovating the first car he ever owned, a 68 Camaro, with his dad, a beautiful kelly green complete with white stripe.

Lisa Henry – Marketing – lisa@primenapa.com

lisaHaving a BS in Biology from UC Davis (lets not forget the emphasis on Molecular and Cellular Biology) has given her the tools she needed to pave her way in the marketing world of wine. How you may ask? She has not gotten back to us on that but we will let you know as soon as it becomes clear. With real life experience working at Dean and Deluca, Diamond Creek Vineyards and ZD Wines, Lisa has seen how successful wine shops and wineries operate so she is ready to apply this knowledge to Prime Cellars. If she could only figure out how to get a 30 year history behind them now. When not "working" she is laughing hysterically at (or with) her two kids. She also enjoys the occasional sprint triathlon.

Curtis Mann – Sales – curtis@primenapa.com

Curtis enjoyed UC Davis so much as an undergrad he decided to go back and get his MBA from Davis. Before during and after the MBA program Curtis worked at ZD Wines, Baldacci and Trinchero Family Estates getting his hands wet in the tasting room, management of the tasting room, and marketing. Curtis enjoys all things wine as well as a myriad of other things including playing piano, surfing and kicking his dad's butt in tennis (or at least trying to). With a toddler at home, he is busy baby proofing everything especially the wine closet!
